Seattle Chiropractor Discusses Tips to Improve Standing Posture
Hi, it’s Dr. Zapata with Emerald City Spinal Care in Seattle here once again to share another Tip of the Week! Today, I want to share a few quick tips with you to help you ensure that you are standing properly and with good posture.
Often times, people realize that when they stand, they should be standing with their shoulders down and back. But, what do you do with the rest of your body? Well, today, I am going to share four tips with you to help you ensure that you are standing properly!
- Tip number one is to avoid slouching. Make sure that your shoulders are down and back and that your ears line up with your shoulders, hips and knees, with the goal being to have all of them in a vertical line.
- Tip number two is to ensure that your feet are shoulder width apart with your knees slightly bent.
- Tip number three is to make sure that your arms are hanging freely by your side.
- The fourth and final tip is to make sure that you are bearing weight on the balls of your feet. That is the portion of your foot between your toes and arches. If you have to stand for an extended period of time, it is OK to shift your weight between your toes and your heels.
That wraps up another Tip of the Week from us at Emerald city Spinal Care in Seattle! For more original content, be sure to check out our other video blog posts at www.emeraldcityspinal.com/tips.
