There are a lot of people out there in Seattle who suffer from headaches, and headaches can present in a wide variety of different ways. Depending on the type of headache you have, there are different ways that you can treat them. So, let’s go through some simple tips highlighting a few things that you can try to reduce your headaches.
Tip # 1) Drink plenty of water! As a general guideline, you should strive to drink at least 8 cups of water each day. However, that is going to be highly dependent on your activity level. The more active you are, the more water you need to drink each day to stay hydrated. Staying hydrated is super important when it comes to keeping headaches at bay.
Tip # 2) Watch the positioning of your head. If your head is in a forward position, which is common while looking down at a smartphone or tablet, it can put a lot of unnecessary stress and strain on the muscles in the back of your neck, which can lead to headaches.
Tip # 3) Keep a ‘headache diary’. This is going to help you keep track of what may be triggering your headaches, and often times simply knowing what causes your headaches is the first step towards reducing or eliminating them!
Now, for one final tip, if you have tried the things that I have shared today and they do not help to reduce your headache frequency, intensity or duration, you may want to consider chiropractic care. It is possible that your headaches may be linked to spinal misalignments, and chiropractic can help you to address those imbalances in the spine.
So, that wraps up another Tip of the Week! I hope you find these tips helpful, and from all of us at Emerald City Spinal Care in Seattle, thanks and have an amazing week!
